April 2022 Monthly Favorites

April felt like a slower month for me but looking back, I accomplished a lot. I completed the next section of the NASM course I am enrolled in and managed to pay off a significant portion of my debt.

Here are some of my favorite things from this past month!

Gut by Giulia Enders

This book was fascinating! It provided so much insight into the digestive system. One really cool thing I learned is that saliva is blood minus the red blood cells so anything floating around in our veins, could end up in our mouths. To me, this helps explain why a lot of people experience build up on the back of their bottom front teeth when they experience oxalate dumping. I felt reading this book was one epiphany after another for me. It is worth a read if you are interested in learning more about the human body.

Nutrition with Judy CIRS

This has been such a rabbit hole for me. Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, or CIRS, happens when people with a genetic predisposition encounter a biotoxin that kicks off an immune system response that it is unable to stop. Inflammation and toxins are stuck in a feedback loop that increasingly harm the body. This may be an explanation for many people experiencing chronic illness, and while initially felt overwhelming, has given me hope for a future I didn't think I could have.

Meat Chips

This DIY dehydrated meat recipe is AMAZING! It is so hard to eat just one, they are so savoury and hit all my umami buttons. I got the recipe from @karen.s.miles.3 and now my life is forever changed.

My Guilty Pleasure

I discovered the world of tiny houses and now I am OBSESSED. I never wanted a big home because who has time to clean something like that?! So looking ahead towards what I want in my future, a tiny home on a bit of land with some chickens and some cows seems perfect to me! I think this Youtube channel is my favorite tiny house channel.
